We’ve been a proud partner of Guilford County Schools (GCS) since 2020. Now, we’re pleased to share that this long-standing partnership has led to not one but three National School Public Relations Association Awards (NSPRA) in publications and digital media excellence.
Dual Generation Workforce Initiative (DGWI)
Golden Achievement Award — an honor recognizing “exemplary work in all aspects of school public relations, communication, marketing and engagement.”
The DGWI journey all started with a few simple questions. What if educational support didn’t stop with the student? What if, by offering parents and caregivers training in high-skill, high-wage careers, we could address all kinds of challenges, from income inequality to poverty to workforce development? These ideas inspired GCS to create DGWI, an initiative that allows GCS parents and caregivers working multiple low-wage jobs to begin forging a path to long-term career growth.
It’s no secret that financial instability affects student achievement and makes it much more difficult to disrupt the cycle of poverty. When hardworking caregivers earn low incomes, often despite holding multiple jobs, opportunities for change are hard to come by, so GCS created them.
It’s the kind of innovative, compassionate program that GCS is becoming known for. The district is a national leader in how it prepares students — and families — for success.
Tigermoth Creative helped to make the case for DGWI with a variety of supporting materials, such as a communications toolkit and promotional videos.
We’re also proud to announce two excellence awards for videos recently produced to promote enrollment and a signature program in the arts:
Award of Excellence — Enrollment Video Series entry in the category Video Series: Produced with Outside Contractor
Award of Excellence — Video Produced with Outside Contractor
It’s an honor to work with a client with such a powerful and meaningful mission, continually proven by their groundbreaking projects and initiatives. In our eyes, GCS is the torchbearer of true public school student support and innovation, and we value every opportunity we have to support them in their mission. We’re in a new day where public school marketing is crucial — not only to ensure enrollment goals but to spread the word about the innovative programs that a district like GCS creates, programs that support and transform our communities.
